A special friend’s incredible card

Send a little love

Remember the days of receiving a letter in the mail? Sending a card for someone’s birthday? In elementary school having a Pen Pal from another school in another state and how exciting it was to tell the student all about life in your city? Where has this lost art gone?

My dear friend, who lives very far from me, decided to embark on her own Covid-19 project to make her own cards from recycled materials and art supplies, and send ‘Love Bombs’, as she refers to her lovely letters, to her friends and family near and far. A special homemade love letter of support, encouragement, and friendship from far away. I love the thought she puts into these gifts.

I have been blessed to have my mother still with me. She has been in the fight against Cancer for too long and fortunately she’s still winning. Whether my mom is travelling or just thinking of me, she will send a cute card, adding a fun bonus inside. Recently I received bonus joke cards: What room can no one enter? A mushroom! Why is a bad joke like a pencil? Because it has no point! These are silly, but they are reminders that I have family and a mother who loves me.

Cards can make you laugh, console your tears, warm your heart, let you know you are thought of, brighten your day. I enjoy sending cards to loved ones, sometimes around the holidays, sometimes just because. I enjoy picking out cards and thinking, I know just who to send this to!

It doesn’t have to be expensive, check out the .50/.99 sections or even better make your own and surprise someone by sending out a card. There has been so much negativity in the news, brighten up the day with a little love.
